“Order now to reserve an autographed copy of Richard Buckner’s new CD OUR BLOOD for only $8.97. Quantities are VERY limited.
Richard Buckner is one of our heroes. Though he may never sell a gazillion records, his many admirers are as devoted as any Bruce, Neil, or Lupe enthusiast.”
Note: This was sent to me in an email from someone at Bull Moose. I put it up here for the sake of those who live in places off the beaten path and don’t get many touring musicians coming through their town. If you go to a Richard Buckner show, I bet he would sign your album for you.
It is my pleasure to tell you fine folks that http://www.richardbuckner.com is back!!
After a couple long years of being redirected to Merge Records’ Richard Buckner artist profile, you will be pleasantly surprised find a few good things going on at Buckner’s “offical website.” Stream songs from the new album “Our Blood” and read the little piece he wrote last month about the making of “Our Blood.” Welcome back Buck!
Thanks to a tip from Cori Crooks, I am glad to share the official news of Our Blood. It will be out on cd/lp on August 2 and pre-orders will come with a poster of the cover art while supplies last. Merge has shared with us the album cover and an mp3 of new song “Traitor” from the album.

I can’t thank you fine folks enough for helping me keep up with the news. This is truly what separates a society from a fan site.
On Buckner and Anders’ stop through Cleveland someone shot a video of the first two songs of the set, two new songs from “Our Blood.” Buck was also nice enough to jot down the set list for them, posted below the video.

The new Richard Buckner album will be called “Our Blood” and will be the first Buckner album to be available on vinyl. No release date has been announced. Keep checking back for updates.
If anyone has any pictures from the recent tour that they would like to share please email me. Until next time…
Last night saw Buckner at Off Broadway in St. Louis. On this little tour, he is accompanied by Anders Parker (http://www.andersparker.com) on guitar, drums and harmonies. They are playing mostly material from the new album which is finished and will hopefully be out this year followed by another tour. Go out and hear the new material, you won’t be let down!
Below is the only photo I bothered to take with my shitty cell phone…
Here is a short review of the show at the Black Cat in D.C. from earlier in the tour: DC Rock Live – Reviews: Sebadoh – Richard Buckner — Black Cat – Mar 26 2011
Folks it’s a slow news week what with the spring tour right around the corner and the new album still in the works. Here’s a cut from Band Of… Blacky Ranchette’s 2003 album called “Getting It Made” which features the duetting voices of Mr. Buckner and Ms. Case.
For those of you unfamiliar with Band Of… Blacky Ranchette, it’s a side project of sprawling Giant Sand leader Howe. Howe and his at-the-time Giant Sandmates John Convertino and Joey Burns (later of Calexico fame) were part of the backing band for “Devotion + Doubt.”
And finally, “Getting It Made.”
